Our family over the years

Saffiatu Kanga

Born in June 2004, she arrived at our home at the age of 4. Currently studying a Diploma in Information and Knowledge Management at Fourah Bay College.

Her dream job is indefinite, however she sees herself working in a service such as a librarian or a teacher and would love a job that helps empower children, educate and look after their wellbeing.

Saffie loves reading and is very excited about the development of e-books, as this gives her access to the world of books. Her favourite book is Pride and Prejudice and she loves to write her own material and share it with those who are close to her.

She is an active member at the church choir with an amazing voice.

Alimamy Kamara

Alimamy on the day he was taken into our orphanage.

Born in October 2006, Alimamy lives in the house with his eldest brother Mohamed and is still being educated in Junior High School, at the Happey Valley secondary in Waterloo. Alimamy wishes to complete the next three years of his education, while studying hard to gain good grades.

Alimatu Kanga

Alimatu is the elder sister of Saffiatu Kanga, born in August 1997, she carried her sister into the orphenage back in 2008. Alimatu wishies to attend University to study banking. She loves reading, singing and dancing for fun.

Aminata Bangura

Aminata was born in May 2002, is currently studying catering and working with an internship for three months. She wishes to study law when she finishes her catering course.

Augustine Conteh

Born in 1998, Augustine is now working on the Mercy Ship which is an admirable position. He has been an amazing role model for some of our younger children as they were growing up and looked out for them every day, having their best interests at heart.

This young man is dedicated to helping others and he achieves this so well. Augustine (Big Chief) is an asset to our children and the committee members.

Bintu Conteh

Bintu as little girl in 2007.

Bintu was born in June 2004. She is currently waiting for her High School results and has a dream to become a nurse. She wants to help others in any way she can. Bintu loves spending her time singing and dancing.

Hassan Karoma

Hassan as a little boy in 2003.

Hassan is currently living with his relatives and the charity is supporting his school fees and his equipment for school.

Mohamed Kamara

Mohamed is currently being supported in full time education and dedicated to achieve good grades so he can fulfil his dreams of supporting himself.

He is currently enrolled to study Mass Communication, with a view to being a lawyer in the future.

Mohamed enjoys drawing and reading while listening to hip hop music.

He is also doing extremely well living in a female dominated house.

Momoh Mansaray

Momoh 2007

Born in August 2000, he has recently completed diploma in IT Technology and is hoping to be supported in continuing his education at degree level.

He is currently living in the town, learning to live as an adult. Momoh’s aim is to be a software engineer as he enjoys using his computer skills. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer and listening to music.

Nancy Bangura

Nancy 2007

Also known as Agatha, Nancy has become an amazing young lady, taking on the responsibilities of the home and keeping the commitee informed. She juggles her education with looking after others too. The house would not be possible if it wasn’t for this admirable young lady.

Nancy is currently studying Reproductive Health at Jui College. Her aim is to become a nurse so she can follow her passion, caring for others.

Rose Mary Solomon

Born in April 2004.

Rose is studying banking and finance and aims to work in finance, her dream job would be to be a banker, Rose loves singing and dancing but feels she can sing better than she dances, although she would love to learn how to dance better.

Born in August 2004, Saffiata is currently living with her brother and is being supported by the charity as she is studying Tailoring.

She has a passion for clothing with colour and is extremely skilled and has already starting making clothes for family and friends. She is hoping to make this her fulltime career.

Born in December 2000.

N’mah studied fashion and design at Bluecrest College and is hoping to set up her own tailoring business.

She enjoys dancing in her free time.

Ibrahim Turay

Born in January 2006, he was taken into our home when he was 2 years old.

Ibrahim is currently attending the Peninsular Secondary school. His goal is to study journalism at further education. In his spare time, he loves being outside playing football.

Fatmata Turay

Born in November 2002, she was taken into our home at the age of six.

Fatmata is currently studying tailoring, with a passion to help others and would like to become a nurse.

She enjoys singing.
